Qualifications:
- Valid 461 Tennessee special education license required
- Prior experience teaching K-2nd grade preferred
- Background in self-contained classroom settings is highly desirable
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to modify lessons and instruction to meet a wide range of student abilities
- Committed to supporting the academic and social-emotional development of each child
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for each student
- Provide direct instruction, academic interventions, and behavioral support in a small-group setting
- Monitor and document student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support each student’s goals
- Establish a safe, positive classroom environment that encourages learning and growth
- Communicate regularly with families and support staff to share updates and develop effective strategies
