Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification (applicable to high school level)
- Demonstrated experience as a special education teacher, preferably in a secondary school setting
- Comprehensive understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Ability to work effectively with general education teachers and support staff in a push-in model
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Passion for fostering inclusion and academic success among diverse learners
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide direct classroom support for students with varying learning needs by integrating into core academic classes
- Collaborate with general education teachers to implement accommodations and modifications
- Monitor student progress and document growth toward IEP goals
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and multidisciplinary team initiatives
- Utilize evidence-based practices and differentiated instructional strategies
- Foster a positive, respectful learning environment that encourages student independence and confidence
Work Schedule and Expectations:
- Full-time contract role for the 26-27 academic year
- Work Monday through Thursday, 7:30am–4:30pm
