Special Education Teacher in Springfield, MA

This rewarding contract position runs from August 25, 2025, through June 19, 2026, and follows a consistent schedule from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Working in a substantially separate classroom setting, you will play a pivotal role in delivering individualized instruction and behavioral support for students requiring specialized interventions.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Current Special Education Teacher certification
• Experience working in elementary settings, especially with K-4 students
• Understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
• Background in therapeutic or substantially separate classroom environments strongly preferred
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
• Ability to adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, modify, and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Provide direct instruction, behavioral support, and therapeutic interventions tailored to each student
• Create a safe, engaging, and organized learning environment
• Collaborate with related service providers, classroom assistants, and families
• Track student progress, maintain records, and participate in IEP meetings
• Foster positive relationships that encourage student growth and confidence
