This contract opportunity is perfect for a dedicated Special Education Teacher eager to work in a highly structured, supportive environment with a focus on life skills and behavioral development. You will guide a small caseload of one to two students, providing both direct instruction and individualized behavioral support tailored to their unique needs. As the instructional and behavioral leader, your expertise will ensure a positive, growth-oriented classroom atmosphere where every student can succeed.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teaching License
- Experience working in self-contained, highly structured settings with intensive behavioral support needs
- Background supporting students with significant intellectual, social-emotional, behavioral, communication, and/or adaptive needs
- Strong skills in individualized instruction, classroom management, and collaboration
- Ability to supervise and collaborate with paraprofessionals and related staff, as well as communicate effectively with families and multidisciplinary teams
- Willingness to provide student-centered programming and adapt strategies to maximize positive outcomes
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver highly customized instruction and behavioral supports to each student
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with families and related service providers
- Oversee classroom staff, providing guidance and training as needed
- Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive classroom environment
- Monitor and record student progress, adjusting interventions as necessary
