Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification
• 461 endorsement required
• Experience or strong interest in working with elementary students with life-skills needs
• Ability to collaborate in a co-teaching environment
• Strong communication and organization skills

Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality instruction and support to a manageable caseload of approximately 7–8 students, sharing a classroom with another Special Education Teacher
• Adapt curriculum to meet individual learning needs, focusing on practical life skills and functional academics
• Partner with a paraprofessional for classroom support, optimizing the learning environment
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with state regulations
• Track and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
• Foster positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
• Promote an atmosphere of respect, growth, and encouragement
