Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification
• Experience working in elementary and/or middle school settings
• Comfortable assisting with toileting needs; no feeding assistance required except monitoring a student with a feeding tube in the middle grades
• Ability to collaborate with teaching assistants and behavior technicians
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom environment

Primary Responsibilities:

• Teach a small group (elementary: 6 students, middle: 11 students) in classrooms providing structured support
• Develop and implement individualized education plans focused on students’ unique needs, with a strong emphasis on encouragement and development
• Collaborate with classroom support staff, including teaching assistants and a behavior technician, to ensure students receive targeted assistance
• Provide direct instruction, manage classroom routines, and promote positive behaviors
• Support students’ self-care needs, particularly with toileting, ensuring dignity and respect at all times
• Communicate progress and strategies with parents and fellow educators
