Key Qualifications:

• Active Virginia Special Education Teaching License, or eligibility for licensure
• Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Solid understanding of special education compliance and documentation practices
• Strong classroom management and positive behavior support skills
• Collaborative mindset for working with multidisciplinary teams and families
• Preferred: Experience with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, knowledge of ABA, visual schedules, social stories, and crisis prevention/de-escalation practices

Core Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver targeted instruction aligned with state curriculum and IEP goals
• Implement evidence-based strategies for students with ASD, including PBIS and BIPs
• Foster development in communication, social skills, adaptive behavior, and independence
• Supervise and guide paraprofessionals assisting in the classroom
• Collaborate closely with related service professionals and support staff
• Maintain accurate progress monitoring and compliance documentation
• Maintain a safe, structured, and positive classroom environment that cultivates engagement and success
