Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher supporting elementary students in a resource setting. This part-time role is designed for an educator passionate about making a difference and guiding young learners in grades K-5. You’ll provide specialized instruction in a pull-out classroom, collaborating with colleagues and families to enhance educational experiences.

The position starts in mid-September 2026 and continues through June 2027. You’ll work Mondays through Thursdays, from 9 am to 2 pm (20 hours per week), allowing you to maintain a balanced schedule while impacting students’ lives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Current and valid Connecticut Special Education licensure (165 or 265 endorsement required; DSAP licenses not accepted)
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students (K-5) in a school-based special education setting
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills for engaging with families, students, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Familiarity with IEP development, progress monitoring, and implementation of individualized supports

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver targeted instruction in a resource room setting for students with a range of learning needs
  • Adapt lessons and materials to accommodate individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
  • Work closely with general education teachers and related service providers to support student inclusion and growth
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to ongoing educational planning

Compensation for this position ranges from $37 to $47 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
