This full-time contract role, at 37.5 hours per week, begins as soon as possible and extends through the Extended School Year (ESY). Your expertise and commitment can help shape a supportive and enriching educational experience for students requiring adaptive instruction.
Skills & Experience Sought:
- Current state teaching license, with Adaptive Special Education Certification required
- Experience working with high school students, particularly those in grades 9-12
- Background in adaptive or self-contained settings strongly preferred
- Proven ability to implement individualized educational plans (IEPs)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with colleagues, families, and support staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and adapt lesson plans that meet the unique learning needs of each student
- Provide direct instruction in a self-contained classroom setting
- Monitor progress and deliver ongoing assessments to guide instructional decisions
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured environment for all students
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive support, including related service providers and behavioral specialists
- Maintain regular communication with families regarding student progress and strategies for support
