High School Licensed Special Education Teacher in Statesville, NC

This full-time Special Education teaching position offers an opportunity to work with high school students in an adaptive self-contained classroom setting. Serving 9th through 12th grade students, this role focuses on delivering specialized education tailored to meet diverse learning needs. The contract starts as soon as possible and continues through the Extended School Year (ESY) period.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for high school students with adaptive learning requirements
• Facilitate learning in an adaptive self-contained classroom, ensuring a supportive and inclusive environment
• Collaborate with school staff, families, and related service providers to support student success
• Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instruction to meet identified goals
• Maintain accurate records and comply with state and federal special education guidelines

Qualifications:

• Valid Adaptive Special Education Certification required
• Licensed and certified as a Special Education Teacher for high school level (9th-12th grade)
• Proven experience working with students in an adaptive self-contained classroom preferred
• Strong knowledge of special education laws, strategies, and best practices
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Location: Statesville, NC

Schedule and Contract Details:

• Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
• Contract position beginning ASAP with commitment through ESY
