High School Certified Special Education Teacher in Statesville, NC

Take your expertise as a dedicated Special Education Teacher to a high school setting, working in an adaptive self-contained classroom. With a full-time commitment of 37.5 hours per week, you’ll support students in grades 9-12, making a significant impact from now through the Extended School Year (ESY) program. This contract position is based near Statesville, NC, and offers a rewarding opportunity to foster growth and independence for students with diverse learning needs.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Hold a current Adaptive Special Education Certification
• Licensed and certified to teach Special Education in a high school setting
• Experience working with high school students (grades 9-12) in self-contained or adaptive classrooms preferred
• Strong understanding of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and accommodations
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and families

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs tailored to each student’s unique needs and abilities
• Deliver engaging and differentiated instruction in all core subject areas within a self-contained adaptive classroom
• Foster a positive, supportive environment that promotes social, emotional, and academic growth
• Work closely with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families to support student success
• Document progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with state and district policies
• Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and school events as required
