High School Licensed Special Education Teacher | Statesville, North Carolina

This full-time contract role, at 37.5 hours per week, begins as soon as possible and extends through the Extended School Year (ESY). Your expertise and commitment can help shape a supportive and enriching educational experience for students requiring adaptive instruction.

Skills & Experience Sought:

• Current state teaching license, with Adaptive Special Education Certification required
• Experience working with high school students, particularly those in grades 9-12
• Background in adaptive or self-contained settings strongly preferred
• Proven ability to implement individualized educational plans (IEPs)
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with colleagues, families, and support staff

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and adapt lesson plans that meet the unique learning needs of each student
• Provide direct instruction in a self-contained classroom setting
• Monitor progress and deliver ongoing assessments to guide instructional decisions
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured environment for all students
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive support, including related service providers and behavioral specialists
