A school in Staunton, VA, is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to provide tailored instructional support to high school students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing individualized lesson plans in accordance with students' IEPs.
  • Collaborating with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure appropriate accommodations and modifications.
  • Monitoring student progress and adjusting instructional strategies as needed.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation to meet compliance requirements.
  • Participating in team meetings and contributing to school-wide initiatives supporting special education needs.

Qualifications:

  • Active or in-progress Virginia teaching license with a Special Education (SPED) endorsement is required.
  • Proven experience working with high school students with varying disabilities is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills essential.
  • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.

Work Schedule:

  • Full-time contract position.
  • Hours: 8 hours per day, 7:45 am to 3:45 pm.
  • Caseload: Approximately 16-18 high school students with IEPs.
  • Start date: As soon as possible.
