Special Education Teacher in Sterling Heights, MI

Daily responsibilities include creating, implementing, and monitoring IEPs, attending meetings, and fostering positive, inclusive classroom experiences.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification
• Experience with IEP development and implementation
• Comfort working with K-8 students across a range of abilities
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to manage a caseload of 10 students effectively
• Reliability, flexibility, and a team-oriented approach

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Develop and carry out lesson plans customized for students with diverse learning needs
• Write, review, and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families
• Attend and participate in special education meetings, ensuring documentation is accurate and timely
• Track student growth and adjust strategies as needed for optimal outcomes
• Promote a nurturing, structured environment that supports students emotionally and academically
