Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Special Education Teacher certification for the state of Michigan
  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Prior classroom experience working with students with disabilities
  • Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, nurturing educational environment

Role Responsibilities:

  • Teach and support students with varied abilities in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Develop and adapt lesson plans and instructional materials to fit student needs
  • Work collaboratively with general education teachers, support staff, and families
  • Routinely assess student progress and maintain accurate, detailed records
  • Foster a positive classroom culture that celebrates diversity and academic growth
  • Cultivate a safe, engaging learning atmosphere where every student feels valued and empowered
