What we’re looking for:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification (Michigan)
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (Master’s preferred)
- Experience with IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to work with students, staff, and families
- Previous experience in an elementary resource or similar special education setting is highly valued
- Passion for supporting students’ academic, social, and emotional growth
Key responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students in the resource room and general education classrooms
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Work closely with co-teachers, support staff, and families to ensure student needs are met
- Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment that supports each student’s growth and independence
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in alignment with district and state requirements
You’ll collaborate daily with another experienced resource special education teacher, gaining support and camaraderie as you work towards students’ academic and behavioral goals.
