In this role, you’ll collaborate with a dedicated team of professionals to develop individualized education plans (IEPs), foster inclusive learning, and guide students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) toward achieving both academic and social milestones. Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid Michigan ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) Teaching Certification
  • Prior experience working in special education, especially within elementary grades
  • Knowledge of best practices for self-contained classrooms
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to build rapport with students, families, and colleagues
  • Commitment to advocating for and supporting students with diverse learning needs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver tailored instruction accommodating the needs of each student
  • Create and implement IEPs collaboratively with staff and families
  • Monitor progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
  • Foster a classroom environment that is supportive, structured, and engaging
  • Communicate regularly with families and multidisciplinary teams
  • Encourage social-emotional development and independence within the classroom community
