Special Education Teacher in Stevensville, MD

Make a meaningful impact supporting students as a Special Education Teacher for the upcoming academic year. This full-time, contract opportunity extends from August 17, 2026, through June 18, 2027, and spans elementary, middle, and high school levels. You’ll work Monday through Friday from 7:25am to 4:00pm, providing instruction in both inclusion and self-contained environments. Your expertise in behavior management and life skills will be highly valued as you guide diverse learners toward their goals.

Desired Qualifications:

• Current certification as a Special Education Teacher
• Experience working with elementary, middle, or high school students
• Strong understanding of behavior strategies and life skills instruction
• Familiarity with both inclusion and self-contained settings
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with students, families, and fellow educators
• Ability to adapt instructional methods to meet the individual needs of each learner

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver effective, differentiated instruction in alignment with students’ Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
• Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom environment conducive to academic and social development
• Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers
• Document progress and update IEPs in accordance with district policies and deadlines
• Maintain open and effective communication with parents and guardians
• Support students’ behavioral and life skills growth for school and beyond
