Empower high school students in the Stevensville and Centreville, MD area by providing specialized instruction and support as a Special Education Teacher. This full-time contract role, running from August 17, 2026, through June 18, 2027, offers the opportunity to collaborate within resource inclusion settings and make a significant difference in students' educational journeys.
As part of a dynamic inclusion team, you’ll work closely with general education teachers to deliver co-taught lessons. You’ll play a key role in designing, implementing, and assessing individualized education plans (IEPs), as well as managing case files and coordinating interventions. Our partner schools utilize a variety of instructional programs, including Read 180, iSPIRE, Bridges Program, and Orton-Gillingham, ensuring diverse avenues to meet students' unique needs.
What you bring:
- Valid Maryland Special Education Teacher Certification
- Experience (preferred) in resource, co-teaching, or inclusion settings
- Familiarity with IEP development, implementation, and case management
- Openness to utilizing a range of intervention programs—training provided as needed
- Commitment to supporting student growth, collaboration, and differentiated instruction
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Responsibilities include:
- Co-teaching with general education teachers in resource inclusion classrooms
- Planning and adapting curriculum to meet student needs
- Assessing and monitoring student progress toward IEP goals
- Providing interventions such as Read 180, iSPIRE, Bridges, and Orton-Gillingham
- Attending IEP meetings (primarily Tuesdays), maintaining compliance and documentation
- Engaging with families, staff, and related service providers
This contract is Monday through Friday, 32 hours a week, with variable start and end times depending on campus assignments. The surrounding communities offer a supportive environment for students and educators alike.
