Embark on a meaningful contract opportunity supporting elementary students as a Special Education Teacher for a full-time position in a welcoming school community. This assignment begins as soon as possible and continues through June 14, 2027, providing long-term stability and the chance to foster lasting relationships. Work five days a week with a dynamic group of students, primarily delivering services within the general education environment and collaborating closely with dedicated educators.
Ideal candidates bring a passion for inclusive education and are committed to empowering students with a diverse range of abilities. You will primarily support those identified with Other Health Impairments (OHI), Learning Disabilities, Autism, and Language Impairments, engaging a flexible caseload of approximately 10-15 students at any time. Your expertise will guide these learners on their academic journey, ensuring access and participation in the classroom.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Current Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility for certification)
- Previous experience with elementary-aged students preferred
- Strong background in differentiating instruction and implementing IEPs in inclusive settings
- Skilled in collaborating with general education teachers, service providers, and families
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Deliver targeted instruction and interventions within general education classes
- Advocate for students’ needs and facilitate appropriate accommodations
- Collaborate with colleagues and families to create inclusive learning experiences
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reporting
- Adapt strategies responsively to meet evolving student needs
