A full-time opportunity awaits for a Special Education Teacher passionate about fostering reading intervention and executive functioning skills in students at the high school level. This contract position runs from September 2026 through Thanksgiving, offering you a chance to make a significant impact during a pivotal academic period.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field
  • Completion of a state-approved teacher preparation program in special education
  • Valid Minnesota teaching license through the Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board
  • Demonstrated mastery of Special Education core skills and Standards of Effective Practice
  • Licensure in a relevant area (ABS, EBD, or Learning Disabilities)
  • Successful completion of student teaching or practicum
  • Experience working with high school students (preferred)
  • Knowledge of reading interventions and executive function strategies (preferred)
  • Expertise in IEP development and compliance (preferred)
  • Collaborative spirit for team-based work environments

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of approximately 16–20 students
  • Deliver targeted instruction in reading intervention and study skills/executive functioning
  • Support students with academic organization, planning, and learning strategies
  • Collaborate regularly with general education faculty and support teams
  • Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and monitor progress
  • Uphold state and district compliance for special education
