Qualifications:
- Valid Minnesota Special Education Teaching Certification (please attach certification and resume—submissions without both documents cannot be considered)
- Experience working in special education settings with various student needs and age groups is highly desirable
- Ability to adapt quickly to new environments and student caseloads
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with staff, students, and families
- Dependable and responsive, with a commitment to stepping in as needed
Responsibilities:
- Provide effective instruction, support, and guidance to students with exceptionalities in the absence of regular staff
- Adapt to a wide range of classrooms, grade levels, and learning needs, potentially covering Early Childhood through High School
- Implement IEPs, modify lessons, and maintain classroom management in alignment with district policies
- Collaborate with other educators and administrators to ensure seamless transitions for students
- Maintain accurate records and communication during assignments
This assignment offers a per diem schedule Monday through Friday for the 2026-2027 school year. You’ll only work—and be compensated—when called in to cover for a direct hire or contract special education teacher, providing freedom and flexibility within the academic calendar.
