Qualifications:

• Valid Minnesota Special Education Teaching Certification (please attach certification and resume—submissions without both documents cannot be considered)
• Experience working in special education settings with various student needs and age groups is highly desirable
• Ability to adapt quickly to new environments and student caseloads
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with staff, students, and families
• Dependable and responsive, with a commitment to stepping in as needed

Responsibilities:

• Provide effective instruction, support, and guidance to students with exceptionalities in the absence of regular staff
• Adapt to a wide range of classrooms, grade levels, and learning needs, potentially covering Early Childhood through High School
• Implement IEPs, modify lessons, and maintain classroom management in alignment with district policies
• Collaborate with other educators and administrators to ensure seamless transitions for students
• Maintain accurate records and communication during assignments

This assignment offers a per diem schedule Monday through Friday for the 2026-2027 school year. You’ll only work—and be compensated—when called in to cover for a direct hire or contract special education teacher, providing freedom and flexibility within the academic calendar.
