Special Education Teacher in Stillwater, MN

Make a meaningful impact in the lives of young learners as a Developmental Cognitive Disabilities Teacher in a welcoming elementary school setting. This full-time contract opportunity is available at a vibrant K-2 campus, supporting an enthusiastic group of approximately 10 students. The role is set to begin at the end of February and will run through early June of 2027, offering the stability of a multi-year assignment in a collaborative environment.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid special education teaching licensure
• Expertise or experience in supporting students with developmental cognitive disabilities
• Demonstrated proficiency working with elementary-aged children, preferably K-2
• Collaborative spirit and ability to work closely with paraprofessionals, therapists, and families
• Strong communication and organization skills to ensure individual education plan (IEP) success

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design and implement differentiated instruction tailored to student abilities and learning goals
• Develop and update individualized education plans in partnership with multidisciplinary teams
• Foster an inclusive, nurturing classroom environment that encourages growth and independence
• Conduct regular assessments and monitor student progress, adapting strategies as needed
• Partner with families and support staff to deliver a cohesive, student-centered approach
• Participate in team meetings, trainings, and professional development as required
