Special Education Teacher - Storrs Mansfield, CT

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification for Connecticut
• Proven experience or strong knowledge of working with middle school students, especially 7th graders
• Expertise in managing resource classrooms and differentiated instruction
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Effective classroom management and organizational skills
• Compassionate, patient, and committed to student success

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver tailored instruction and interventions aligned with students’ IEP goals
• Modify curriculum and provide academic support to accommodate individual learning needs
• Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and ongoing communication with families
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and administrators
• Foster a supportive, inclusive, and positive learning environment
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team discussions
• Utilize assessment data to inform instruction and monitor progress
