Qualifications:

• Valid certification to teach Special Education
• Experience working with middle school students, particularly in 6th grade, is highly valued
• Thorough understanding of IEP development and implementation
• Ability to adapt and differentiate instruction based on individual student needs
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and staff
• Organizational skills to manage caseloads and maintain timely documentation

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs) for 6th grade students in a resource classroom
• Deliver engaging lessons and targeted interventions to support diverse learning styles and needs
• Work collaboratively with general education teachers to modify the curriculum and classroom activities as required
• Collect data and track student progress, updating goals and instructional approaches as necessary
• Communicate regularly with guardians, service providers, and the wider educational team
• Foster a supportive, inclusive environment that promotes student confidence and independence
