Certified Grades 9 - 12 Special Education Teacher - Storrs Mansfield, CT

Embark on a meaningful opportunity supporting students in a vibrant school environment near Storrs Mansfield, CT. This contract assignment seeks dedicated Special Education Teachers to serve primary and secondary grade levels, with immediate openings available. The current priority is a High School (Grades 9-12) role, followed by a Middle School (Grades 6-8) position, both designed to make a difference in the lives of exceptional learners.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification required
• Demonstrated experience working with Grades K-12, with a focus on grades 6-12 preferred
• Knowledge of IEP processes, instructional accommodations, and differentiation strategies
• Ability to support students ranging from mild to moderate needs in inclusion/resource settings or self-contained classrooms
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with multidisciplinary teams and families
• Previous experience with mild/moderate disabilities or autism spectrum populations is highly desirable

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students’ specific learning needs
• Provide instruction and support within inclusion/resource (high school) and self-contained autism (middle school) settings
• Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to foster inclusive learning environments
• Evaluate student progress and adjust teaching methods as necessary
• Communicate regularly with families to engage them as partners in students’ growth

Openings & Schedule:

• High School (Grades 9-12): Inclusion/resource setting, mild to moderate population, Monday–Friday, 7:15 AM–2:30 PM
• Middle School (Grades 6-8): Self-contained autism classroom, Monday–Friday, 7:25 AM–2:05 PM
• Immediate start upon onboarding, through June 11th
