Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our middle school team. The teacher will provide individualized instruction and support to approximately 15 students, while collaborating with families, general education teachers, related-service providers, and school leadership to meet students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized instruction based on students’ IEP goals.

• Provide engaging, differentiated instruction in a supportive classroom environment.

• Monitor and document student progress and maintain accurate special education records.

• Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with families and service providers.

• Implement accommodations, modifications, and appropriate behavioral supports.

• Maintain a structured, safe, and inclusive classroom.

• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians and members of the student support team.

Qualifications

• Required: Valid state teaching certification/credential in Special Education or the appropriate special education licensure area.

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field.

• Knowledge of IEP development, accommodations, modifications, and compliance requirements.

• Experience working with middle school students and/or students with disabilities preferred.

• Strong communication, organization, and classroom-management skills.

• Commitment to supporting students with diverse learning needs.
