Make a meaningful impact supporting students as a dedicated Special Education professional for the upcoming school year. This contract opportunity runs from August 24, 2026, through June 7, 2027, offering you the chance to work full-time (37.5 hours per week) in one building within a supportive school environment close to Strongsville, OH.
You’ll work directly with students in two specialized classroom settings:
- One classroom serving 9-12 students with multiple disabilities, including those who are non-verbal, on the autism spectrum, or have physical impairments.
- A second classroom supporting 10-15 students with emotional disabilities, delivering social-emotional instruction, implementing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), and employing crisis intervention strategies as needed.
Qualifications:
- Valid and current Special Education Teacher licensure
- Experience with students with multiple disabilities (MD), including autism, non-verbal, and physical impairments
- Experience working with students exhibiting emotional disabilities (ED), including managing BIPs and providing social-emotional learning
- Strong skills in collaborative problem-solving, patience, and adaptability
- Excellent communication and record-keeping abilities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction based on IEP goals and students’ unique needs
- Modify curriculum and adapt learning materials for diverse learning profiles
- Maintain accurate records and collaborate with fellow educators, families, and support staff
- Provide behavioral and crisis intervention, following established school protocols
- Foster an inclusive, safe, and nurturing classroom environment
