You’ll work at one location and may be assigned to either a classroom serving students with multiple disabilities (MD)—including those with autism, non-verbal needs, and physical impairments—or a classroom supporting students with emotional disabilities (ED), where expertise in behavioral intervention and social-emotional development is essential.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher licensure required
- Experience working with students in K-8th grade preferred
- Knowledge and hands-on skill in strategies for multiple disabilities (MD), including non-verbal and physically impaired students (for the MD classroom)
- Background in supporting emotional disabilities, developing BIPs, and implementing crisis intervention (for the ED classroom)
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- The ability to adapt instruction and interventions to support varying learning and behavioral needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to a caseload of 9-12 students with multiple disabilities or 10-15 students with emotional disabilities, depending on assignment
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Utilize evidence-based instructional practices and behavioral strategies
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom community
- Collaborate closely with support staff, therapists, and families
Contract runs from August 24, 2026, through June 7, 2027, with a weekly commitment of 37.5 hours. Patience is appreciated during the interview scheduling process, as responses may be delayed due to school breaks.
