Step into a vital educational role supporting early learners as a long-term substitute Special Education Teacher for an early childhood classroom. You’ll be working closely with a small caseload of 10-15 pre-kindergarten children, all within one building, ensuring continuity and strong relationships. This assignment is ideal for an educator passionate about early intervention and dedicated to creating a nurturing, inclusive environment.
What we're looking for:
- Dual certification in Early Childhood Education and Special Education (required)
- Experience or familiarity working with pre-kindergarten students, particularly those with individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Strong classroom management skills and a commitment to differentiated instruction
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teaching assistants, therapists, and families
- Organized, adaptable, and able to implement existing lesson plans as well as modify curriculum as needed
Role responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging early childhood special education instruction to a class of 10-15 pre-k children
- Develop, implement, and track personalized education plans, maintaining compliance with all regulations
- Assess student progress, adjusting strategies to address individual needs
- Communicate professionally with families and staff, supporting student achievement and well-being
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive classroom culture that promotes growth and self-esteem
