Step into a meaningful role supporting young learners as a contract Special Education Teacher for a 12-week maternity leave coverage, working with kindergarten to second-grade students with Multiple Disabilities (MD). Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid license or certification in Special Education within the state
- Demonstrated experience working with students with Multiple Disabilities (MD) in early elementary grades
- Strong knowledge of adapting and implementing modified curriculum and individualized accommodations
- Proven skills in classroom management and creating structured learning environments
- Excellent communication with students, families, and support personnel
- Ability to collaborate with teaching teams and related service providers
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver age-appropriate, adapted lessons to support the individualized learning needs of K-2 students
- Ensure implementation of each student’s IEP goals and necessary accommodations
- Maintain a safe, structured, and consistent classroom routine
- Monitor and document student progress towards learning objectives
- Foster an inclusive and supportive atmosphere that encourages participation and growth
- Communicate regularly with families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams regarding student development
