Special Education Teacher - Sugar Land, TX

Step into a rewarding contract position supporting students in a K-3 Life Skills classroom! In this role, you’ll make a difference in the lives of 8 engaged learners, including several who are non-verbal and 4 who are not yet potty trained. Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching credentials (or in process)
• Experience with early elementary (K-3) students
• Familiarity supporting children with diverse abilities, including non-verbal communication and toileting needs
• Compassion, patience, and creativity in tailoring instructional strategies
• Comfortable collaborating with paraprofessionals and support staff
• Strong communication and organization skills

Your Impactful Responsibilities:

• Develop and adapt lesson plans to meet IEP goals and individual student needs
• Employ multisensory and differentiated instruction to engage all learners
• Facilitate a positive, inclusive classroom environment that emphasizes social, academic, and life skills
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals to provide personalized support and ensure a safe learning space
• Help students progress in self-care, communication, and independence
• Track and document each student’s growth, adjusting strategies as needed
• Communicate regularly with families and related providers
