A full-time onsite Special Education Teacher position is available in St. George, South Carolina, approximately 45 minutes from Charleston. This role supports elementary students in a resource setting for grades K-5, managing a caseload of about 23 students with the assistance of multiple teaching assistants.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering individualized education programs (IEPs) to students with special needs
- Collaborating with teaching assistants and general education staff
- Monitoring and assessing student progress
- Adapting lessons and materials to meet diverse learning needs
- Maintaining accurate documentation and communication with parents and staff
Qualifications and experience desired:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- Experience working with elementary students in resource or inclusive settings
- Ability to manage a classroom with multiple support staff
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment
This is a contract position with a 40-hour workweek, starting as soon as possible and continuing through the end of the school year. The role is based onsite, providing hands-on support to students and collaboration with school staff.
