You’ll work alongside a robust support team, including four classroom aides and full-time ABA assistance, ensuring that every student receives comprehensive and personalized instruction throughout the school day. The classroom currently serves nine students in a self-contained setting, fostering both academic achievement and social-emotional development.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Valid Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility for certification)
  • Experience teaching or supporting students with mild to moderate disabilities
  • Strong classroom management and differentiation skills
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Collaborative approach and willingness to work with support staff (aides, ABA specialists, related service providers)
  • Excellent communication skills with students, staff, and families

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver evidence-based instruction for students in a self-contained classroom
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
  • Work closely with aides and ABA staff to meet behavioral and academic goals
  • Adapt curricular materials and assessments for varied student needs
  • Communicate regularly with families and participate in IEP meetings
  • Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment
