This contract opportunity focuses on working with both 3K and 4K students in an engaging onsite setting for the upcoming 2026-2027 academic year. The ideal candidate will bring expertise and passion to personalized instruction, playing a vital part in shaping educational foundations for preschoolers.
Key Qualifications:
- Holds an active South Carolina Special Education (SPED) teaching license with all necessary endorsements and certifications
- Confident working onsite exclusively (virtual assignments are not available for this role)
- Previous experience teaching special education, particularly with early childhood/preschool-aged children, is highly desired
- Demonstrates strong communication and organizational skills
- Collaborative spirit and a commitment to fostering inclusion for every student
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students ages 3-5, in compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Provide direct instruction and adapt curriculum for young learners with varied needs and abilities
- Utilize effective classroom management strategies to create a nurturing, structured environment
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure holistic student success
- Monitor, assess, and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed to encourage growth
- Serve as a resource and advocate for students, supporting their social, emotional, and academic development
This full-time, contract position runs from late July through late May, with a consistent weekly schedule to support work-life balance.
