This full-time, contract position focuses on providing intensive services to middle school students requiring specialized interventions in both academic content and behavioral/emotional regulation. You’ll utilize your expertise and compassion to guide students in a highly collaborative, structured environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction within the GNETS framework, adapting lessons for varied learning needs.
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals and necessary accommodations for student success.
- Apply positive behavior intervention techniques, fostering a safe, structured classroom community.
- Collaborate closely with administrators, families, related service providers, and support staff.
- Track student progress, maintain compliance documentation, and communicate results with stakeholders.
- Tailor instruction for all core content areas, including reading, math, science, language arts, and social studies.
- Maintain strong classroom management and utilize evidence-based strategies to support students facing significant behavioral or social-emotional challenges.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
- Valid Georgia Special Education General Curriculum Certification, with multi-content area certification (please provide details).
- Demonstrated skill in behavior interventions and effective classroom management.
- Previous experience developing and implementing IEPs.
- At least three professional reference checks required, including a recent supervisor.
- Experience with middle school students or similar populations.
Preferred Background:
- GNETS or alternative educational setting experience.
- Expertise in supporting students with emotional and behavioral disorders.
- CPI certification or training in de-escalation and advanced behavior management.
