In this full-time contract opportunity, you'll guide an elementary self-contained classroom specializing in adapted curriculum for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and significant cognitive disabilities. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction using adapted curriculum standards tailored for students with complex learning needs.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs) for each student.
- Create and maintain effective classroom routines, structure, and behavioral support systems.
- Collaborate actively with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families to foster student success.
- Collect and analyze student performance data to inform teaching strategies and ensure measurable progress.
- Differentiate instruction to accommodate a variety of learning styles and abilities.
- Foster the development of communication, social, behavioral, and functional skills in students.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid Georgia Special Education Certification is required.
- Demonstrated experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
- Proven track record developing and implementing IEPs.
- Strong skills in classroom management and positive behavior intervention.
Preferred Experience:
- Certification or background in Adapted Curriculum.
- Experience supporting students with significant cognitive disabilities.
- Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), structured teaching methods, visual supports, and functional communication systems.
- Previous supervision of paraprofessionals in a self-contained environment.
