Special Education Teacher - Swansea, South Carolina

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid teaching certification in Special Education (state-specific requirements apply)
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
• Familiarity with IEP development, progress monitoring, and implementation
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities with students, families, and staff
• Adaptability and problem-solving skills when meeting students’ unique challenges
• Previous experience in K-12 school settings preferred, but newly certified educators encouraged to apply

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and assess individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with diverse abilities
• Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction in both individual and small group settings
• Monitor student progress and document growth toward educational and behavioral goals
• Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff to ensure inclusive classroom environments
• Foster a positive, supportive atmosphere where every student feels valued and empowered to succeed
• Communicate regularly with families to share updates and offer resources and support
• Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education
