Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education (state-specific requirements apply)
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
- Familiarity with IEP development, progress monitoring, and implementation
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities with students, families, and staff
- Adaptability and problem-solving skills when meeting students’ unique challenges
- Previous experience in K-12 school settings preferred, but newly certified educators encouraged to apply
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and assess individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with diverse abilities
- Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction in both individual and small group settings
- Monitor student progress and document growth toward educational and behavioral goals
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff to ensure inclusive classroom environments
- Foster a positive, supportive atmosphere where every student feels valued and empowered to succeed
- Communicate regularly with families to share updates and offer resources and support
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education
