Special Education Teacher - Swanton, VT

A rewarding opportunity is available for a full-time Elementary Special Education Teacher to support students with mild to moderate needs in a dynamic school environment on a contract basis. This role is essential in helping each student achieve their greatest potential by providing personalized and effective educational experiences throughout the school year, beginning August 11, 2026 and continuing through June 15, 2027.

Key Qualifications:

• Current Vermont Special Education Teacher license and endorsement, or the ability to become licensed/endorsed in Vermont
• Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher, particularly in working with elementary-aged students
• Strong understanding of individualized education programs and modifying instruction for diverse learners
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work alongside faculty, parents, and support staff
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment tailored to students with mild to moderate needs

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students on your caseload
• Adapt instructional materials and strategies to meet the unique learning needs of each child
• Assess students' progress regularly and adjust interventions as needed
• Partner with general education teachers, specialists, families, and administration to advocate for student success
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate progress with relevant stakeholders
• Support students in achieving social, emotional, and academic goals through differentiated instruction and positive behavioral interventions
