Special Education Teacher - Sylacauga, Alabama

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Eligibility for certification at grades 6-12 or K-12
• Previous experience or training working with children or adolescents with exceptional needs
• Strong communication skills and collaborative approach with school teams and families
• Commitment to adapting curriculum and instruction to support diverse learning needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver evidence-based instruction and modifications to help students achieve their IEP goals
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, related service providers, and parents/guardians
• Create and maintain a safe, positive, and structured classroom setting
• Collect and analyze student progress data for continuous improvement
• Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives
• Foster an encouraging atmosphere where every learner feels valued and supported
