4th Grade 5th Grade Special Education Teacher | Tacoma, Washington

We currently have six positions available for passionate educators ready to make a positive impact within K-5 and preschool environments. Positions cover both independent learning and structured classrooms in the Spanaway area and surrounding communities. Assignments begin immediately and run through February, with a strong chance for extension.

Ideal candidates will bring a strong foundation in fostering inclusive, engaging classroom environments where every child’s unique needs are met.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teacher Certification (Washington State or eligible for reciprocity)
• Experience working with K-5 or preschool students, ideally across multiple grade levels (1st–5th)
• Adaptability to work in both independent learning and structured classroom models
• Ability to quickly build rapport with students, families, and fellow educators
• Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction guided by IEPs in a variety of classroom structures, including preschool, elementary independent learning, and structured settings
• Develop lesson plans that accommodate diverse learning needs and grade levels
• Assess student progress and collaborate on IEP modifications as needed
• Build supportive relationships with students, families, and teaching teams
• Contribute to a positive, inclusive school culture
