Interviews are happening right away for a single opening with a start date of September 28, 2026, and the contract runs through May 28, 2027. The position offers 30 hours per week, scheduled from 8:05am to 2:40pm, with a 35-minute unpaid break each day.

Qualifications:

  • Current and active Special Education Teaching License for Alabama
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students, specifically grades 4-6, is highly preferred
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, aides, and administrators
  • Strong communication and organization skills
  • Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive classroom environment

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized instruction and support to students with a range of learning needs in a resource classroom
  • Develop and implement IEPs according to student goals and state standards
  • Adapt curriculum materials and instructional strategies to promote student success
  • Monitor progress and maintain detailed, accurate records
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and other team members to ensure consistency in student support
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student growth and needs
