Special Education Teacher - Taylor, Michigan

You’ll be guiding a small group of 7-8 students in an ACT 18 ASD classroom, working alongside a robust support team—including speech therapists, school social workers, OTs, and an ASD coach. Qualifications:

• Valid elementary teaching certification and ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) endorsement required
• Proven experience working in a Special Education setting, preferably with early elementary students
• Strong collaborative skills, able to work confidently alongside a multi-disciplinary support team
• Ability to implement new curriculum materials with creativity and fidelity
• Excellent communication skills and compassion for students with diverse needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver individualized lesson plans using the provided curriculum for a self-contained ASD classroom
• Supervise and collaborate with three classroom paraprofessionals to ensure consistent support for students
• Monitor student progress, conduct assessments, and contribute to IEP goal planning and data collection
• Participate in team meetings and maintain communication with related service providers and families
• Create a positive, structured, and nurturing environment where every child is empowered to thrive
