Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching licensure/certification
- Experience in high school or adaptive/specialized environments preferred
- Familiarity with Standard Course of Study or Extended Content Standards
- Strong commitment to inclusive education and adapting to diverse learning needs
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
- Empathy, patience, and problem-solving abilities in varied classroom environments
Responsibilities: High School Resource Role:
- Support approximately 30 students, primarily through inclusion services with select pull-out sessions
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs guided by the Standard Course of Study
- Collaborate with general education teachers, staff, and families to promote academic and behavioral success
- Provide differentiated instruction and interventions to ensure student progress Adaptive Position at a Public Separate School:
- Guide a classroom of 8-10 students with significant cognitive disabilities following Extended Content Standards
- Work closely with a team, including teacher assistants, therapists, and nursing personnel, to address individual needs
- Create and adapt instructional strategies, fostering a supportive, accessible environment
- Address medical needs with support, ensuring all students’ wellbeing and engagement
