Special Education Teacher Work From Home | New Mexico

A full-time contract position for a virtual special education teacher is available to support inclusion and resource classrooms. This role provides additional release time for district special education teachers to focus on paperwork, IEP meeting preparation, and student services coordination. The position is based in Carlsbad, NM, and involves working in a telehealth capacity within the school setting.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering instructional lessons and providing individualized support to students.
• Implementing students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) with appropriate accommodations and modifications.
• Collecting data and documenting student progress toward IEP goals.
• Collaborating with classroom teachers to maintain instructional continuity and effective service delivery.

This role specifically excludes case management duties, which remain the responsibility of the district’s special education teachers.

Desired qualifications and skills:

• Experience teaching special education students, with a strong understanding of IEP implementation.
• Ability to deliver instruction and student support effectively in a virtual setting.
• Proficiency in collecting and maintaining accurate data related to student progress.
