Here’s an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Special Education Teacher seeking a meaningful role in a supportive educational setting. This full-time, onsite contract position focuses on covering a maternity leave from late September through the end of December. You’ll be working with 6th to 8th grade students in a resource room environment, managing a caseload of 20 students. Desired Qualifications:
- Active Special Education Teaching certification
- Previous experience in a middle school resource room setting preferred
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to create and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Proficiency in tailoring lessons to a diverse group of learners
- Enthusiasm, adaptability, and a collaborative spirit
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction to students in grades 6-8 in a resource room setting
- Develop and follow IEPs for each student, ensuring academic and behavioral goals are met
- Offer individualized and small group support focused on student needs
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families
- Monitor and document student progress, making adjustments as needed
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages student growth and self-confidence
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the overall success of the special education program
