Here’s an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Special Education Teacher seeking a meaningful role in a supportive educational setting. This full-time, onsite contract position focuses on covering a maternity leave from late September through the end of December. You’ll be working with 6th to 8th grade students in a resource room environment, managing a caseload of 20 students. This is a fantastic chance to make a difference and keep students on track during a critical time in their academic year.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Active Special Education Teaching certification
  • Previous experience in a middle school resource room setting preferred
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Ability to create and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Proficiency in tailoring lessons to a diverse group of learners
  • Enthusiasm, adaptability, and a collaborative spirit

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instruction to students in grades 6-8 in a resource room setting
  • Develop and follow IEPs for each student, ensuring academic and behavioral goals are met
  • Offer individualized and small group support focused on student needs
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families
  • Monitor and document student progress, making adjustments as needed
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages student growth and self-confidence
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the overall success of the special education program
