Special Ed Teacher | Thornton, Colorado

A special education teaching opportunity is available in the Denver area supporting students with affective needs in a center-based program at an elementary school. This full-time contract position provides dedicated support to students requiring specialized educational strategies to enhance their learning experience.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and group instruction tailored to students with diverse affective needs.
• Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
• Monitor student progress, adjusting instructional methods as necessary.
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all district and state regulations.
• Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and administration to foster a supportive learning environment.

Qualifications:

• Active Colorado Department of Education teaching certification in Special Education.
• Experience working with school-age children (0-9 years) preferred.
• Familiarity with center-based programming for affective needs.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work on-site in a school setting within the Denver area.

Location:

• Thornton, CO (Denver metropolitan area).

Schedule:

• Full time (35+ hours per week).
• Contract position through May 22, 2026, with an immediate start date preferred.
