Key Qualifications:
- Active Colorado Department of Education Certification with Special Education endorsement (required)
- Experience working with students with severe autism, significant support needs (SSN), and emotional/behavioral disabilities
- Background in the use of AAC devices for non-verbal students is a plus
- Skilled in de-escalating challenging behaviors and fostering supportive, structured learning environments
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with paraprofessionals, other teachers, and service providers
- Familiarity with data-driven instruction and individualized education plans (IEPs)
Role Highlights:
- Provide instruction in self-contained and center-based classrooms (K-12: Primary, Elementary, Middle, and High School)
- Support the development of life skills and build routines to help students adjust to the school environment
- Emphasize structured learning and emotional regulation for students with significant autism and SSN
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, specialized staff, and co-teachers to meet diverse student needs
- Participate in ongoing assessment, documentation, and progress monitoring tied to IEP goals
