We are seeking two compassionate educators to provide Structured Learning Services at elementary schools serving children with very severe cognitive and behavioral disabilities. These roles offer the chance to work with small caseloads (7-15 students), individualized classroom support, and strong interdisciplinary collaboration as you empower students to reach their full potential.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- Current Colorado Department of Education Teacher license with Special Education Generalist (5-21) endorsement required
- Demonstrated success teaching students with autism; experience with non-verbal learners and AAC highly valued
- Skilled in classroom management and paraprofessional supervision
- Familiar with Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP)
- Comfortable supporting students with challenging behaviors (eloping, biting, hitting, etc.)
- Experience teaching in a station-based classroom preferred
- Familiarity with research-based instructional practices for autism spectrum disorders
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver full-time instruction in a structured learning environment for students with complex needs
- Collaborate with a team of SLPs, OTs, PTs, psychologists, and related services delivering both push-in and pull-out support
- Oversee and support classroom paraprofessionals
- Implement individualized strategies to address severe behaviors and communication needs
- Participate in ongoing professional development and multidisciplinary meetings
