Work within structured learning classrooms serving elementary students who have complex needs—including severe cognitive and behavioral disabilities and non-verbal autism. Grow your skillset through hands-on collaboration with a supportive interdisciplinary team (including SLPs, OTs, PTs, and psychologists) and develop expertise in best-practices tailored to diverse needs. This role will broaden your experience with research-based interventions, paraprofessional management, and up-to-date assistive technology.

Qualifications:

• Active Colorado Department of Education Teaching License with Special Education Generalist (5-21) endorsement.
• Experience working with students with severe cognitive/behavior disabilities and non-verbal autism.
• AAC experience highly valued.
• Experience managing paraprofessionals strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA), Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP), and station-based classroom setups.
• Comfort with research-based autism interventions.
• Ability to complete all district-required credentialing paperwork promptly.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction and manage a small classroom (7-15 students) in a structured learning environment.
• Oversee and mentor paraprofessionals within the classroom.
• Collaborate closely with related service providers.
• Conduct and contribute to the development and implementation of FBA/BIP as needed.
• Maintain positive, proactive communication with the school team and families.
