Classroom management is enhanced with paraeducator assistance, so you can focus on delivering individualized instruction and addressing emotional needs. This position is designed for those with Emotional Impairment certification who want to foster positive academic and personal outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Current certification in Special Education with an endorsement in Emotional Impairment (required)
- Experience teaching or supporting students with emotional and behavioral needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with colleagues and families
- Ability to adapt curriculum and instructional practices
- Commitment to creating a safe, nurturing, and structured classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction to a caseload of 12 students, supporting their academic, social, and emotional growth
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Work with local high schools to support shared caseload students
- Maintain a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere
- Progress monitor and document student goals in collaboration with support staff
- Partner closely with paraeducators and other team members for the best outcomes
- Engage with families and other stakeholders regarding student needs and triumphs
