Special Education Teacher | Tijeras, New Mexico

Make a difference as a Special Education Teacher in an inclusion setting, engaging students in grades 3 through 5. This full-time contract opportunity begins ASAP and runs through May 28th, 2027, offering you the chance to foster growth and achievement among students with diverse learning needs.

You'll work collaboratively within an inclusion environment, supporting students by adapting educational content, implementing individualized education plans, and fostering a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere. Your expertise will help empower students to reach their potential while collaborating closely with general education teachers, support staff, and families.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid New Mexico PED certification as a Special Education Teacher (required)
• Previous experience in special education settings preferred
• Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
• Demonstrated ability to modify curriculum and employ differentiated instruction strategies
• Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills
• Commitment to promoting an inclusive educational environment

Primary Responsibilities:

• Instruct students in an inclusion setting in grades 3-5, integrating accommodations and modifications
• Develop and implement IEPs, monitoring progress and adjusting strategies as needed
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, related service providers, and parents/guardians
• Foster a nurturing, positive, and supportive classroom community
• Utilize evidence-based teaching strategies to support learning and emotional needs
• Participate in faculty meetings, trainings, and ongoing professional development
