Special Education Teacher in Tijeras, NM

As an inclusion teacher, you'll play an essential role designing and delivering tailored instruction to help students with varied learning needs thrive within general education classrooms. You’ll collaborate closely with general educators, paraprofessionals, and families, ensuring every student receives the individualized attention and resources they require to succeed.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid New Mexico PED and Special Education (SPED) teaching license required
• Experience working with middle school-aged students in inclusive and/or resource settings preferred
• Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration with staff, students, and families
• Organizational skills to manage compliance documentation and adapt instruction dynamically

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support to designated middle school students within inclusion settings
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals tailored to each learner’s unique needs
• Partner with general education teachers to adapt curriculum, classroom environments, and assessments
• Maintain ongoing parental communication regarding student growth and challenges
• Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team discussions, and professional development relevant to special education
