Make a significant impact supporting students with special needs in an engaging learning environment. This contract-based role offers the opportunity to work onsite in a dynamic educational setting alongside passionate educators and support staff. With two positions available, you’ll be providing essential support to either an elementary autism classroom or a PreK special education classroom. The assignment begins as soon as possible and runs through late May 2027, offering stability and the chance to build meaningful connections.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education (SPED) Teaching License (Emergency Certification not accepted)
- Experience or strong interest in teaching students with autism or other special needs at the elementary or PreK level
- Willingness to accept both fully certified and travelers with pending certification
- Comfort working onsite full-time (remote or virtual options are not available)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with families, support staff, and school leadership
- Commitment to fostering inclusive, supportive, and adaptive learning environments
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s strengths and challenges
- Provide direct instruction and differentiated support throughout the school day
- Work closely with paraprofessionals, therapists, and related services team
- Monitor student progress and adapt strategies to maximize engagement and growth
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate regularly with families
- Cultivate a positive, safe, and welcoming classroom atmosphere
